Due to our continous growth, we are hiring for our new facility in Oberwart (Austria):

Microgreen Grower (m/f)- Fulltime

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintaining indoor farming equipment
  • Monitoring of environmental conditions and executing remediation plans when out of compilance
  • Seed and tray preparation in accordance with internal guidelines
  • Analysing yield and quality in the production rooms
  • Troubleshooting crop issues and diagnosing quality issues, health or damage
  • Conduct pest and disease management programs
  • Recording and tracking EG, pH, temperature and humidity
  • Correcting EC, pH when out of correct range
  • Administer fertigation strategies to meet plant nutrient specs
  • Calibrating sensors
  • Receive, monitor and replace CO2 tanks
  • Reading and using grow room software
  • Carrying out the harvest
  • Preparation plants for transport
  • Monitoring inventory of plant supplies
  • Recording and documentation
  • Cleaning filters, work areas and maintaining a clean grow room
  • Partnering with R&D Teams to continually test and revise cultivation practices and products
  • Collecting nutrient solution and plant tissue samples for analysis
  • Rotational weekend work required

Your qualifications:

  • Completed study with indoor farming reference (e.g. B.Sc or M.Sc in Horticulture, Plant Science, Controlled Environment Science or a related discipline)
  • Experience in indoor farming
  • Experience with food safety and HACCP protocols desired
  • A high level of ownership of agricultural operations
  • Ability to recognize complex relationships
  • Analytic capability of thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Basic technical understanding and drive for continous improvement
  • Reliable basic math skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Accuracy – work according to recipes and specifications
  • High degree of self-responsibility, structured way of working
  • Positive, respectful attitude
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • German language knowledge is advantageous
  • Car driving licence (category B)
  • Non-smoker
